Same traffic. 24% more revenue from it.

A premium homeware retailer with healthy traffic and a conversion rate stuck at 1.1%. We found where buyers were dropping off, fixed the friction, and ran a structured testing programme that turned the same sessions into noticeably more revenue.

The Challenge

Traffic was not the problem. Category pages ranked well, paid shopping was efficient, and still the site converted at 1.1% while basket abandonment crept up. The team had redesign ideas and opinions. What they did not have was evidence of where buyers actually gave up.

The programme drew on our conversion rate optimisation work.

Our Approach

phase.01
01

Find the friction.

Session analysis, funnel mapping and on-site surveys showed buyers stalling at delivery costs, returns anxiety and a mobile checkout with seven steps.

phase.02
02

Fix the obvious first.

Delivery thresholds surfaced earlier, returns policy moved next to the buy button, checkout cut to three steps on mobile.

phase.03
03

Test in structured rounds.

Every change ran as a measured test with a hypothesis and a kill date. Winners stayed, losers went, no committee redesigns.

phase.04
04

Compound the winners.

Each quarter's lessons feed the next round of tests across category, product and basket pages.
